Enjoying My Experience At Work

About Me

Enjoying My Experience At Work

For quite some time, I really enjoyed my job. However, after working at the same place for a little more than two years, things really started to change. I was having a difficult time looking on the bright side of things, and I really wanted to have something to look forward to. I started thinking about how to transform my work experience, and I decided to talk with my employer about going back to school. I learned that I could apply for tuition reimbursement, and then I started working towards a better job. When I finished, I was actually offered a great position at my current workplace, and I love it. Read great tips about business here.

Where To Look When Your Need To Hire New Employees

Warehouse work can be difficult and finding employees that work well in that environment is sometimes not a simple task. There are ways to find employees with experience on the job you need to fill, which can help.

Hiring Temporary Employees

The advantage of hiring temporary employees for your warehouse operation is that you can evaluate them and get a feel for them before they become a permanent part of your company.  Not everyone is suited to working in a warehouse, and it is better to find that out early on. If the work is too much for the employee, or you feel they are not a good fit the agency can move them to another job and you can try another person in the role.

Working With an Employment Agency

Working with an employment agency allows you the ability to find employees that have the right experience or work background to fit your needs. If you are looking for an employee that can run a  fork truck or a stock picker, you can let the agency know and send you an operator that has the qualifications you need. Not having to train a fork truck driver can save you a lot of time and money, especially if your operator left abruptly, leaving you without anyone to do the job.

Benefits and Costs

There is also the advantage of not having to add a temporary employee to your insurance and payroll systems right away. If you are using a payroll service that charges for additional or by the number of employees on the system, the cost savings can be significant. The man-hours to add or remove an employee also adds to that cost. Once they have proven themselves to be a good fit and you want to hire them permanently, you can add them to the system, and since they are part of the team, the expense makes sense.

Converting an Employee to Permanent Status

Many companies will set a time frame of ninety days before they consider an employee for permanent hire. The process is not, but the employee may find themselves starting over in some ways. If you offer insurance and benefits right away, it can entice employees to work hard and stay on permanently. You will have to contact the employment agency as they may want you to buy out the contract for the employee but check with the agency to see that your agreement with them requires.
